My priorities are to serve ALL people in Tigard. People drive our local economy, people fund our local schools and government, and people must remain at the heart of our policies. That’s why my campaign for Tigard City Council begins and ends with our residents.
Safe Streets for All
Our local policies should aim to make our streets as safe as possible.
That means dedicated trails and paths to schools and other public institutions that avoid major roads or building sidewalks for safe pedestrian traffic.
It also means planning a community that proactively includes these precautions.
Safe streets help reduce the accelerating rate of climate change and encourages more walkable and sustainable building practices.
Housing you can afford
Tigard remains a severely rent burdened city.
That means that many households spend more than 50% of their income on rent.
We need policies that explore TRUE affordable housing, meaning options for our residents at every level of income.
Every resident of Tigard belongs here and I’m dedicated to making sure we find better paths to home ownership, rent controls, and multi-generational affordable housing.
Policies that Center People
Government only works so long as it is supported by the people.
ALPRs and ICE hunt down our residents and disregard our constitutionally protected right to due process.
Data centers increase the urban heat island, pollute our water, and drive-up utility costs. Our public library and city events continue to take disproportionate budget cuts.
As a volunteer Tigard budget committee member, I joined the people and voted no on these cuts to the library.
We must keep our policies focused on what our residents want right now while balancing the intermediate and long-term needs. Our policies have to center people.
